The Canvas I Couldn't Let Go

This elephant here was my very first oil painting. It captures the exact moment in time where I realized just how much I loved working with oils and so my journey began.

There wasn’t any special reason I chose an elephant for my subject. I simply loved the photograph I found online, and it called to me. That’s honestly how it goes with most of my pieces. People often ask why I choose the things I do to paint or draw, but I never have the perfect answer. I just look for images that grab my attention and then try to make them my own. It’s really that simple.

I still have the original painting today, as I have never been able to part ways with it. It holds a lot of meaning for me and maybe one day I will let it go, but for now I am offering limited edition prints!! You can find them in my shop.
